Section 9 Maintenance Requirements 9.1 General
RPE needs to be maintained to ensure that it functions properly and provides its designed respiratory protection. The system of maintenance should be commensurate with the scale of use and the type of RPE used.
The repair and maintenance of more complex RPE, such as air-supplied RPE, SCBA or complex parts such as demand and reducing valves should be performed by trained personnel authorized by the manufacturer.
